Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data is collected when you visit monaxgames.com, use the browser games and demos that Monax Games hosts on its subdomains, such as play.monaxgames.com and demo.monaxgames.com, or play a Monax Games game on a third-party game platform, and what that data is used for.

Monax Games is the studio of independent game developer Maxim Varlamov. In this policy, “Monax Games”, “we” and “us” refer to him.

What we collect

Website analytics

This website uses Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service provided by YANDEX LLC. Metrica sets cookies and collects technical data about your visit: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, screen size, approximate location based on the IP address, the pages you open, the page you came from, and how long you stay.

Metrica’s Session Replay (Webvisor) is turned on. It records how you interact with a page: mouse movements, scrolling and clicks. The only input fields on this site are in the contact form, and they are marked so that Session Replay does not record what you type in them.

We look at this data in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.

Yandex processes this data under its own privacy policy. To stop Metrica from collecting data about you, install the Yandex Metrica opt-out add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser settings.

Data saved in your browser

Our games save your progress and settings in your browser’s local storage, so that a game can pick up where you left off. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. Clearing the site data in your browser deletes it and resets your progress.

On a third-party platform, your progress may also be saved through the platform’s own cloud save, so that it is available on your other devices. That copy is stored by the platform under its privacy policy and is not sent to us.

Third-party services in demos

Some demos hosted on our subdomains use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to count visits in a similar way. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Some demos also load scripts from Telegram so they can run as Telegram Mini Apps.

Contact form and email

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and your message. The form sends them to us as an email from the server that hosts this site, without any third-party form service. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.

We use this only to reply and to keep the conversation. We do not add you to mailing lists.

Server logs

The server that hosts this site may log technical data for every request: IP address, date and time, the requested address and your browser’s user agent. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.

What we do not do

This site has no user accounts, no advertising and no payments, and its only form is the contact form. Its fonts and images are served from our own server, not from third parties.

Games on other platforms

Our browser games are published mainly on Poki and Yandex Games, and may also appear on other game platforms, such as CrazyGames and GameDistribution. Older games are also on Kongregate and IndieDB.

When you play or view a game there, the platform collects data under its own privacy policy. A platform may show ads in and around the game and measure how the game is used, through its own code that is built into the game. We do not control what the platform collects.

Our games do not add analytics of their own on top of that. A game itself only saves your progress and settings, as described above.

Our mobile games Space Missiles and Tap Fish are no longer available on Google Play. Copies installed earlier may include third-party analytics and advertising services, such as Flurry and Google, which process data under their own privacy policies.

Children

Children may play our games. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, which process it for us, or when the law requires it. These providers may process data outside the country where you live.

Retention

Analytics data is kept by Yandex and Google according to their own retention periods. Game progress and settings stay in your browser until you clear them. We keep messages, whether sent through the form or by email, only as long as the conversation needs them. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example in the EU or the UK under the GDPR, or in Russia under Federal Law No. 152-FZ, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent. To use any of these rights, email us.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
